Asbestos Survey: asbestos is applied in many buildings, vessels, industrial equipments, factories or oil rigs. The exact location of asbestos can be determined by performing a decent asbestos survey. The asbestos survey has to be of a good quality, because this asbestos survey will be the fundament on which the asbestos management, costs, risk evalution and removal will be based. In most countries asbestos survey companies are certified or accredited according to local or internation norms. The French, Dutch or Uk norms can be applied as standard norms if there are no local norms.

First things first, start with an asbestos survey:

- identify the location of asbestos by taking samples of the materials suspicious of containing asbestos
- perform laboratory tests to determine the type of asbestos
- check the condition of the asbestos
- assess the risks of the asbestos

The asbestos survey is presented in a report. In the report you can find a detailed notification of where the material containing asbestos is located as well as the quantity concerning it. Along with these, a graph is also drawn giving appropriate data on the deposition of bulk asbestos and where the sample was obtained. The asbestos survey will also have the condition as well as the friability of the materials having asbestos content in it.
